About

This past fall, First United Methodist Church of Georgetown celebrated our 160th anniversary as a church. We are a United Methodist congregation that is steeped in Wesleyan tradition, yet poised for the future and invested in your Christian journey today.

Our campus is located at 410 East University Avenue in Georgetown Texas near Old Town and Southwestern University. The church grounds are graced with venerable pecan trees, crape myrtles and redbuds that beautifully frame our historic sanctuary, the recently built McKinney Ministry Center and our newly renovated Atkin Learning Center. First UMC Georgetown is also the home of The Learning Tree preschool.

Our grounds feature an outdoor Prayer Labyrinth and Prayer Garden which is open to the public for prayer and meditation year round from dawn to dusk. In addition, Grace Gardens – a gated, columbarium garden complete with statuary and fountain sits adjacent to our main building.

We believe you will find First UMC Georgetown to be  a welcoming and friendly congregation  – a place where you can find acceptance and love as a part of the family of Christ. Join us!
